Alicia Fleming-Dorsey is a children's book writer and a social and traditional entrepreneur who cares deeply about the environment and its effect on the planet. She also cares deeply about children, the elderly, dogs and their well being. She has been married to her husband, Craig, for 35 years.
Alicia is known to many children as Grandma Dynamite because she is explosive around children. They just love being around her. Adults find her method of connecting with children and others within 30 seconds impressive. Alicia enjoys doing whatever she can do to make sure that children today have a future that includes clean air to breathe tomorrow.
Alicia has college degrees in Business Management and is known as an outstanding teacher. She is often identified as a teacher and when asked is she one, she always responds, "Aren't we all? Children are always learning, even when adults do not think they are listening or paying attention. Rather it is something good or bad, we are all teachers because children are learning."
She is an outgoing, creative, fun and down-to-earth person who sees children's minds as sponges waiting to absorb good information that will make them smarter, give them self-confidence, good communication skills, help them create friendships within a diverse environment, embrace differences, and have the desire and ability to be creative and innovative in a global workforce and global economy.
Alicia says, "These skills will be necessary for children to have in the workforce of tomorrow, as they are in today's workforce, so critical thinking, hands-on learning while having fun is very important."
Alicia is a Christian, who believes in GOD and has a never-ending passion for helping others, both young and old. She openly acknowledges that GOD is not done with any of us yet. She says that she is a work in progress but loves herself, nonetheless, the way she is.
Giving back and paying it forward is something she is happy doing and plans to do more of whenever possible. Alicia finds wholeness in being useful and having a purpose in this world. That includes doing more for others and for the betterment and sustainability of this planet, now and for the future. She might just ask you, "Where will you live, if not on Earth?"
Finding different ways to solve problems and bringing awareness to them so that everyone who is a stakeholder has an opportunity to learn, share, grow and educate others is what Alicia is, in part, all about.
